About Tjina

About Tjina

Founded by Kaurna, Pitjantjatjara and Ngarrindjeri man Mihail Lochowiak.

Tjina was established to connect people, organisations and communities through cultural mentoring, storytelling and cultural learning. Every project is grounded in respect, connection to Country and the belief that meaningful relationships are built through shared experiences and understanding.

Pronunciation: Tjina (Gee-nah)
Tjina is the Kaurna word meaning “footprints.” Footprints represent the journeys we take, the knowledge passed down by those who walked before us, and the legacy we leave for future generations. This philosophy is at the heart of everything we do.

Whether mentoring a young person, delivering a cultural awareness workshop, facilitating a hands-on art workshop or supporting an individual through Positive Behaviour Support, every service is designed to create meaningful connections that honour the stories of the past while creating new footprints for the future.
