Supporting people begins with understanding their story.

At Tjina, we believe that every behaviour has meaning. By taking the time to understand each person’s experiences, strengths, goals and support needs, we work collaboratively to develop practical, evidence-based strategies that improve quality of life and create positive, lasting outcomes.

Positive Behaviour Support

Positive Behaviour Support is about more than reducing behaviours of concern—it’s about improving quality of life.
Delivered by Sophie Trowbridge, a Registered Behaviour Support Practitioner, Tjina provides person-centred, trauma-informed and evidence-based Positive Behaviour Support services for children, adolescents and adults living with disability.
Working collaboratively with participants, families, support workers, schools and multidisciplinary teams, each service is tailored to understand the reasons behind behaviour, build meaningful skills and create environments where people can thrive. Every Behaviour Support Plan is developed in accordance with the NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework and promotes the reduction and elimination of restrictive practices wherever possible.
Services are available throughout South Australia and Melbourne, with both face-to-face and telehealth appointments available where appropriate.

Session Information

Every Behaviour Support journey begins with listening.
We take the time to understand the participant’s strengths, preferences, communication, relationships and life experiences before making recommendations. Through collaboration with the participant and the people who know them best, we develop practical strategies that promote independence, increase opportunities for participation and improve overall quality of life.
Our approach focuses on building skills, strengthening support networks and creating environments that support long-term success rather than simply responding to behaviours as they occur.
